It is possible to transmit the yeast Candida (which causes thrush) through contact with saliva by kissing, etc, but it is highly unlikely that people who have good immune systems and have not been recently treated with antibiotics will come down with a case of thrush. Candida is part of our "normal flora", meaning that it resides in the mouths and guts of healthy people. It is only when your immune system is compromised or when you have recently been treated with antibiotics that kill off the competing normal flors that Cabdida have an opportunity to overgrow and cause thrusuh.
