Is the constant sensation of wanting to pee from sex?
Dec 13, 2001

ciao! ok i am 22 years old and i recently began having safe sex-i have been only having sex on the weekends and after my boyfriend leaves i notice that i have a peeing problem during the week. It doesnt hurt but i have a constant sensation of wanting to pee. When i do go to the bathroom little comes out....is this from sex...and what should i do?

Response from Dr. Feinberg

You are having irritation and probably minor local infection of your urethra (the opeing of your urinary tract to the outside of your body) as a result of sex. This is common. Drink lots of water and cranberry juice, and the problwm may resolve on its own. If peeing becomes painful, then you'll need antibiotics for a bladder infection.
