Active TB

Dear Doc,
Diagnosis of my right axillary lymph node biopsy says caseous granulamatous inlfamation. ABF stains positive for acis fast test. My chest x-ray is clear. Is it active TB or just came in contact with?
I had BCG so i had positice skin test previously

TB can manifest itself as in infection of lymph nodes (TB adenitis) without active chest disease. Also-- there are other germs related to TB which are also acid-fast and cause caseating granulomas on biopsy, such as Mycobacterium kansasii or M. avium complex. You have active disease, since it's causing infection of your lymph nodes, it's just a matter of finding out exactly what germ is doing the damage. You should be treated with a combination of drugs for TB while you wait for results of the cultures that were done from your biopsy material. Good luck!
