Tox is excreted in the stools of kittens, but not grown cats. If you don't have any kittens, don't worry about it. If you do, then clean the litter box with plastic or rubber gloves on, and wash your hands thoroughly afterwards. If your CD4 cells are less than 200 and you have had prior exposure to toxo when your cats were kittens, there is medicine you can take to prevent getting toxo. There is a blood test your doctor can do to see if you have had this exposure to toxo before. If your CD4 cells are above 200, the risk of getting toxo is very very small, close to zero.
