I don't want to be an alarmist, but I'm wondering what would happen to a PWLA if I had opened that envelope at American Media or Daschle's office. Are PWLA's at more risk for Anthrax or other potential bugs? I know to get a flu shot and I know not to drink out of mountain streams, but I don't know what to do now. I'm just looking for good information since I know my immune system isn't in great shape.

Anthrax is a rare illness, so there are no specific data about anthrax occurring in HIV+s. PLWAs may be at some increased risk, but there is no way to know for sure. My advice is to stay calm and not lose any sleep over the possibility of getting anthrax.
