Hep C & Cats Sep 6, 2000 During a discussion with a co-worker she stated that persons with HIV should not have cats in their home, especially not clean their litter boxes due to bacteria. Does this also apply to people who have Hep C? |

 The risk for HIV infected people is of toxoplasmosis, which is common in cats. People with HCV, if they do not have HIV do not have impaired immune systems and thus cats would pose no untoward risk, unless they were pregnant. Enjoy your cats! DTD | ||||||||
