Hep C - reinfection - variety of virus
Sep 22, 2000

Is reinfection as dangerous as in hiv?

Is there different families of virus hep C?

HIV medication rises liver's counts, when would you start thinking is not due to medicine and is hep showing up?

Response from Dr. Dieterich

There are many quasispecies of hepatitis C and multiple infections are possible. The US Public Health Service advises all HIV positive people be tested for hepatitis C, regardless of liver enzymes. Get tested! DTD
