SGOT and AGPT levels
Sep 22, 2000

I am 43 male and I am doing a check up every year. It was always ok, until yesterday that the SGOT and SGPT level were high: SGPT=71(37) and SGOT=137(23) the GGT value was 54(50).Other levels were GLU 94(106), CHOL 180(191).

Could you please advise on these values. In brackets you may see the values of last year

Response from Dr. Dieterich

It sounds like you have elevations of liver enzymes. You did not tell what medications you are on if any. You should be tested for hepatitis B and C and A too, although it is not a chronic disease. If you are positive for any of these things, they are treatable! DTD

very scared!!!!!!!
