Hepatitis C
Sep 25, 2001

Dr. Dietrich. How dare you tell people that there is a cure for Hep C.Tell that to the people who died from it.This is the problem. You dont even know. You give people false hope. You will be reported

Response from Dr. Dieterich

This is an important issue that people still don't seem to understand. Of course there is a cure for hepatitis C and of course people still die from it too. Pneumonia is easily curable, but people die from that too! The treatment is not a 100% guarantee of a cure, it is only a percentage, now about 50-60%. The other people do not get cured, although the treatment does buy them some time, because we know the liver biopsy looks better. However without treatment, no one gets cured after the hepatitis C becomes chronic, so early diagnosis and treatment is essential to do the best we can. Medical science will never be able to cure 100% of anything, including the common cold, but there are diseases that we can help dramatically, including hepatitis C! DTD
