|Timing for conclusive test
Aug 25, 2001
Could you please help me in trying to figure out the appropriate time to test for the following:
Taken RNA PCR and Elisa 10 wks (negative)
Elisa 12 weeks (negative)
HCV & HBV screening 15 wks (negative) HIV 2 15 weeks (negative)
Home Access 16 weeks (negative) DNA PCR 17 weeks (negative)
What would be my final testing point for both HBV, HCV and HIV.
Would it be 24 weeks or 26weeks. Thank you for your assistance in this matter. And do you think I tested enough for HBV.
Response from Dr. Rodriguez-Torres
HCV antibodies can be detected after 1 year.To have definite results earlier, you may need to do PCR to check live virus in the blood.
genotype 1a, and 1b
