HEP C ACTING UP 2B GENO WHAT WOULD YOU TREAT WITH,POST LIVER TRANSPLANT,5 1/2 YRS.PTLD TREATED WITH RITUXIN IN REMISSION SO FAR,MILD REJECTION,NEUROPTHY IN LEGS TREATING WITH NEURONTIN,DOING OK,ALT,AST GGTP ARE UP ABOVE 200 SLOWING ELEVATING.FEELING PRETTY GOOD,LOOKS GOOD. ASAP

I am not sure that this is the correct forum. I am assuming that this is an HIV and Hep C infected person, post transplant who is having elevated transaminases and mild rejection. I have to assume the HIV is optimally controlled. Since it is hard to tell the difference between Hep C and rejection, a liver bx is a must. I would have no qualms about trying peg interferon with ribavirin if the viral load is high and the biopsy shows unequivocal progression of Hep C, rather than PTLD or rejection, despite the theoretic risk of rejection with interferon
