Do the hepatitis vaccines work on all three strains?
Response from Dr. Dieterich
There are very effective vaccines for both hepatitis A and hepatitis B. In fact there may be one shot that combines both vaccines coming out soon. There is unfortunately no vaccine for hepatitis C. All of our children are getting hepatitis B vaccine now and some people think that we all should be vaccinated against hepatitis A as well, because it is really in epidemic proportions in many places in the US. I certainly think that all adults should have hepatitis B vaccine. DTD
