hep c treatment
Jul 12, 2014

My husband had liver transplant Christmas day. He can't use new Hep c treatment as he is genotype 1a with Q80K. Once his hemoglobin reaches a ten, the doc and pharmacist says he can try anti-biotics with ribavirin. The only other option is to wait four to five months for a new therapy. Is there a new therapy in the making for 1A ? He is currently taking 4 cellcept and 4 tacrolimus daily for anti-rejection

Response from Dr. Taylor

Talk with your doctors about sofosbuvir plus ribavirin. This may be an option for him. Sofosbuvir plus ledipasvir may also be an option in a few months. I suggest talking with his doctors about this.
