Mar 9, 2014

Can you please interpret my laboratory results? These were explained to my mom already but I am very curious to know about my health condition. Please explain/ interpret this to me.

HBSAg- Reactive HBeAg- Non- Reactive Anti-HBe- Reactive Anti-HAV IgM- Non-reactive Anti- HBC Igm- Non- reactive HBV- DNA: 116 IU/mL

Response from Dr. Taylor

What I can tell you from these results is that you have chronic hepatitis B infection. It would be optimal to be followed by a doctor from now on, throughout the course of your life, for care do this infection. Hepatitis B can change in our bodies over time.

You don't have a very recent hepatitis C or A infection. If you may have had a past exposure ask your doctor about getting tested for an older infection. If you do not have hepatitis A see if you can get vaccinated against it.
