2002 diagnosed with HepC type 1a viral load 9x10 sixth power. Biopsy was 4/4 cirrhosis, 3/4 inflammation. Responed with inter/riba then relapsed placed on maintence Pegusys. 2005 viral load was 409256. 2008 esohageal varices were present. Now slight hepatic encepholopathy. So repeat the pegasys, new meds way out of price range. What would you suggest for the next step? Got hepC by infected transfusion in the 70's not detected untill 2002. Feel fairly fine. Thanks

See if you can access a clinical trial. I would discuss this with your physicians. Consider referral to a transplant center if available/accessible. There are ongoing clinical trials at transplant centers. Ask you doctors about compassionate release program for Sofosbuvir plus ribavirin. All best to you.
