Response from Dr. Taylor

You have chronic hepatitis B infection. This is not a very new infection. Next best blood tests to check include ALT, hepatitis B DNA, HIV and hepatitis C antibody. Results will help you and your doctor make treatment decisions. You are protected against hepatitis A but do not have a recent, active hepatitis A infection but a resolved one.

Other ways to help the liver with chronic hepatitis B infection include not using alcohol, not smoking and maintaining a healthy weight.

HCV infection
told positive hep c, but negative a & b
