Hepatitis C
Jun 1, 2013

Last year 31july,2012, i come to know that my mother has HCV positive on initial test, in advance test genotype not detected and no load of virus. she having SGPT & SGOT near 200 through out the year. now she facing soiling on lags and abdominal. kindly suggest me , what am i do, can i go through treatment of HCV.

Response from Dr. Taylor

It sounds as though your Mother was exposed to hepatitis C but cleared away the virus from her body on her own. The elevated blood tests suggest that she should have an evaluation to find out if there are other types of liver disease causing the levels near 200.

Regarding your question, 'can i go through treatment of HCV?' your Mother does not sound as though she needs hepatitis C treatment. If you do not have hepatitis C, you do not need treatment.
