Hep Titer negative
May 25, 2013

All 3 of the titers were negative. What is recomemnded?

Response from Dr. Taylor

There are a number of different tests for different types of hepatitis.

With the information you provide, I recommend reviewing with your doctor what specific tests, for which type of hepatitis, were obtained.

If your hepatitis B surface antibody is negative, I recommend that you get vaccinated against hepatitis B. If your hepatitis A test is negative, I recommend that you get vaccinated against hepatitis A. Unfortunately we do not yet have a vaccinate to protect against hepatitis C.
