Response from Dr. Taylor
You have chronic hepatitis C virus infection. Either you were cured with your prior treatment and got re-infected, or you were not cured with your first treatment.
The LEVEL of hepatitis C virus in your blood does NOT correlate with hepatitis C virus severity. Talk with your doctor about the status of your hep C, about how much scarring there is in your liver. This will help you decide about the timing of getting treated again. You should at some point get re-treated and aim to get cured. All best!
