hcv treatment
Feb 16, 2013

Hello DR Thank you for your time :-)

Is it true that we before a revolution in the treatment of HCV and when it will be happen?

Do you think there will be a full recovery from the disease in the coming years? and when? All the news we hear is really great and give a lot of hope and strength! :-) thanks

Response from Dr. Taylor

Yes we are witnessing a revolution in hepatitis C treatment. It is anticipated that in a few years there will be pills that may be used without interferon injections, that can cure people of all genotypes, almost all the time, with only a few weeks of therapy.

The challenge will be to ensure that people in need have access to diagnosis and these improved treatments, and that we prevent spread of existing infections.
