| Hcv on my hand Jan 14, 2012 I am a nurse and I was helping put a restraint On a patients wrist with no gloves on... I realized she had pulled her iv out and I had a fair amount Of blood on my hand. I have a healing hangnail on one of my fingers. I found out she was hcv positive and had my initials labs drawn. I had two doctors exam my hand and they didn't see any open areas. What are my chances of getting hcv? I have two little children at home so I havent been able to stop worrying! |

Response from Dr. McGovern
I would not expect any risk. Follow up with your employee health service just because it is work related. However, I have no suspicion or concern for HCV. | |||||||||
