reactive 34.40 for hep C is this acute or chronic????
Oct 2, 2011

my husband has a positive result for Hep C... having trouble understanding the results it says reactive 34.40 test was hcv ab s/co serpl eia (H) 34.40....please explain

Response from Dr. McGovern

The antibody result suggests that you husband may have hepatitis C infection.

If he is not at risk, it could be a false positive test. I would get a HCV RNA test now to see if there is any virus in his blood. This would confirm these antibody test results.

my boyfriend has hep c
hep c versus hep b
