Aug 21, 2011
Hi i had an open wound exposure to hep c in a car accident. At 10 weeks post exposure i had liver function test done, all was normal,13 weeks after the accident i had a pcr and anti body test done both were negative do i need to test again at 6 months?

Conservative guidelines suggest retesting in six months.
However, with a negative PCR and antibody test at 13 weeks, I would say that you should not be concerned any longer since the chance of acquiring HCV is extremely low.
