Autoimmune Hepatitis
Aug 10, 2011

My sister is a 27 year old mother of 3. Her health seems to worsen after each birth. She was diagnosed with Hepatitis C when she was 16, about 30% of her liver has cirrohosis. Her spleen is the size of a baseball. She also may have Dysmenorrhea. She is in a stressfull relationship. Should we be expexting the worse?

Response from Dr. McGovern

I would hope that she will see a liver specialist for evaluation for treatment.

Depending on her genotype, she may be a candidate for new therapies as well.
