 I would get HCV testing by your primary care doctor if you are talking about a syringe for drugs...If you are referring to a syringe used in medical care, then go to your employee health service. You can check for HCV RNA at 4 to 6 weeks to see if there is any evidence of virus in your blood. If negative, I would follow-up an antibody test at 12 weeks. Liver function testing should be done as well. Any new elevation would be important to track. The good news is that rapid treatment of acute (new) infection is usually successful. | ||||||||
