 Your partner with acute HBV should wait until viremia has cleared, which occurs in the vast majority of patients with HBV. HE or she can get a blood test to be certain the infection has cleared. In acute infection, the levels of virus are very high. Immunization takes at least 3 injections to be fully protective. Plus, in your situation, you should make sure you also have the development of protective antibodies with a simple blood test. | ||||||||
