Please advice me about my hepatitis results
Oct 24, 2010

Dear Dr. McGovern, I am dentist and I had a 3-vaccine Hepatitis B series 4 years ago. Today I made hepatitis B profile test and this is my results HBcAb positive HBcAb-IgM negative HBeAb negative HBeAg negative HBsAb positive (543.7 mlU/ml) HBsAg negative please advice me about this results and about my situation if I am carrier or not, because the worker in the blood bank refused me as a donor Best regards

Response from Dr. McGovern

Your blood tests are consistent with prior infection which then cleared. You are being refused by the blood bank because they don't take anyone with prior exposure....
