hepa b treatment
Sep 29, 2010

I was diagnosed last 2000 that I have hepa b. I was treated with zeffix. after 7 yrs of taking, my HVA DNA was 10 M parts, so Iwas treated with baraclude. My HVA DNA was down to 2000. Am I treated already? What is the alternative medicine from baraclude because its too expensive. Please help me am just an ordinary person.Waiting your response. Tnx

Response from Dr. McGovern

Your response to Baraclude is encouraging. I hope you are taking 1.0 mg daily since after Zeffix (lamivudine) treatment failure you need a high dose.

I would suggest getting your HBV DNA viral load down to no detectable are almost there...Then I would switch to something less expensive than Baraclude, depending on your country's formulary.

Chances of False Positive Hep C test?
Confused about lab results
