Dear Dr. McGovern, During unprotected oral sex with a part time sworker i experienced an open cut (1mm radius) on the glans of my penis. Later i had protected vaginal sex with no contact with any body fluid. Hence not knowing the likelihood of the girl having potential bleeding gums (almost sure she was positive, black southafrican part time sex worker in cape town, who i met in a nice lounge) I was prescribed PEP (Truvada, Kaletra) 9 hours later. I am at day 33 after exposure (4 days after finishing PEP). A screening for all STDs which were possible to check were done at day 10 post exposure. All came out negative. Are these reliable or other tests should be done at a later stage? Thank you very much in advance for your precious feedback. D.
