|Hep B Healthy Carrier
May 1, 2010
I am Hep B reactive for 5 years now.5 years ago our doctor said I am a healthy carrier and will not infect other people since I am considered cured. My latest lab test was Feb. 2010 and I am still reactive, the test results were normal as per our company doctor..I dunno what she really meant when she said I am considered cured..could you help me please?

I don't usually use the word "cure" with HBV unless you have lost your HBsurface antigen and gained HBsurface antibody.
If you are HB sAg reactive, but your HBV DNA is not detectable, then you have inactive disease. That does not mean it will never reactivate again.
