Mar 25, 2010
Dear MS McGovern, Just found out that i am a carier of Hep B, HBV Quantitive PCR checked 2 months ago shows 2700 IU/ml, liver function test normal, Anti HBc igm - Negative, Serum G.O.T 18, GPT 19. Can i get marry, if husband is vaccinated still it get transmitted to him and the child. What protection is needed to the child upon birth. Appreciate your feed back. Is there any medication, doctor says no medication is now required but only frequent monitoring is necessary.

Your levels of HBV are low so this is good news. I would simply follow this over time.
Your husband will be protected by the vaccine. He should have hepatitis B surface antibody testing to be certain his levels are still high enough to be protective.
Yes you can have a child and the baby will be vaccinated at birth!
