Mar 5, 2010
I am a chronic HbsAg positive pasent for 6 years.I am still HbsAg positive,HbsAg positive, 20 ALT and <9ml/l HbsAg level.I have not tested for virus DNA level. What does it mean? What is the condition of this disease?Should I start taking drugs?
Response from Dr. McGovern
You may be a chronic carrier of surface antigen, but you do not know if you have active or inactive disease if you have never been tested for DNA. This test will tell you if you have virus in your bloodstream. If not, you certainly don't need treatment.
Only a 'how are you'?
