|blood on paperwork from hiv/hcv infected indivdual
Dec 29, 2009
I am pregnant and very worried that a client of mine who is hiv/hcv positive who bled on one of my documents may have caused some form of transmission. he was bleeding from the gums and said so and then he left the clinic. two days later the blood was found on one of the forms. i am not certain if i touched it or not. am i at risk for hiv/hcv/or hep b infection? i did not have any open wounds, just one with a scab on it... again, don't even know if i touched the paper in the spots where the blood was. what do you think i should do about this?
Response from Dr. McGovern
I would not consider you at risk at all.
