Is there "flex" in Twinrix accelerated schedule?
Nov 12, 2009
Because I am traveling to Asia on short notice, I got first dose of Twinrix couple days ago in city 50 miles away. Can't get second shot in my own town until day 11. Then I'll be overseas, can't get third shot until about 30 days after that. Do I need to worry about these variations in schedule? I can drive back to the other town for dose 2 on day 7, but still can't get dose 3 until day 42+
Response from Dr. McGovern
I would favor getting the second shot on day 7 and then getting the 3rd dose at the later date...I suspect you will do just fine with this schedule. When you are back home you can get hepatitis B surface antibody testing to be certain this schedule worked.
