| Hepa B vaccine should be repeated for husband? Nov 12, 2009 I am a HBV carrier and I recently got married. My husband knows about my condition and he says he is safe as he had Hepa vaccine about six years ago. Should he repeat the vaccine now or what exactly should we do so that he doesn't get infected. We want to have babies so condom is not an option. Thank you for your time. Hope to hear a response soon. |

Response from Dr. McGovern
He should have repeat hepatitis B surface antibody testing to be certain he has a protective level of antibodies. If not, a simple booster shot will probably work, but please check the surface antibodies about 2 weeks after the vaccine to be certain. Best of luck with your family plans.... | |||||||||
