Sep 29, 2009

my husbanb is hiv+and am negative, how could u help of not getting this in the future.i was also told that i had hep b and my body had gone over it.pls help me i dont understand.

Response from Dr. McGovern

Hepatitis B infection can clear on its own. Your blood tests have shown your doctor a pattern that demonstrates clearance by your immune system. That is good news. You can prevent transmission of HIV and other sexually transmitted viruses by using condoms. Your husband should have testing for hepatitis A, B, and C and should be immunized against hepatitis A and B if not immune on his own.
