| How Long to Treat HBEAG Negative Infection Aug 27, 2009 Dear Dr. McGovern, On going baraclude treatment right now, (started May 2008, with baseline load of 40,000 iu/ml, I have achieved negative DNA since November 2008, and up to now based from my latest DNA test. My question is can I stopped medication on May 2011(3 yrs. of treatment). I'm have E antigen negative infection. Thank you and God Bless |

I would stay tuned to see what developments come in terms of our understanding of HBeAg negative infection by 2011. Right now, the recommendations are for at least 3 years, but I don't know what the recommendations may be a few years from now as we learn more. Baraclude is usually easy to tolerate so I hope you are feeling well and I am very happy to hear about your viral suppression. That shows excellent adherence to your medications and you are doing great things for your liver. | |||||||||
