Hi Dr. McGovern,
I may have been exposed to HIV and HCV in January but all my test are coming back ok. By week 24 after possible exposure "Fresh Needle Stick" by HCV antibody is neg and my HIV rapid test week 12 and week 24 are non-reactive.
My concern is that I have minor case of oral trush "can't confirm just small white spots on tongue" and pain under my ribs near my liver and AIDP type symptoms on my both legs. Maybe too much google searches.......
Am I going crazy and can the stree be causing this or could it take longer then 24 weeks for both HCV/HIV to test positive. My doctors don't feel there is any need for RNA/PCR testing with the above results.
Do I need to be concerned?
Response from Dr. McGovern
Yes testing is very stressful.
I agree that no further testing is needed.
Enjoy the summer - get out and have some fun...
