|Grapefruit juice - viral load 100,000 lower after 1 month
May 12, 2009
After reading about the study on naringin/naringenin's ability to block HCV secretion from infected cell, I started drinking 24 oz of grapefruit juice a day, fresh squeezed from fruits with peels. In a month my viral load test dropped from 320,000 to 220,000. Is this result insignificant (i.e. due to testing techniques, etc.) or is there a chance that naringin indeed is helping my body to clear from this virus. (I have had it for at least 15 years, HCV 1b, after blood transfusion. My viral load has always been detected between 375,000 and 320,000 before I got on grapefruit juice...) Your opinion? Thank you in advance.

The way viral loads are compared are usually in "logs"; thus this would not fall into a significant range in answer to your question about numbers.
