Do I still have the hope?
Mar 14, 2009

Dear Doc,

lately I was diagnosed with HBsAG (+) with this laboratory results HBsAG- (4.266- patients counts), (0.105- Cut-off value)on Jan 2009. Then on Feb 2009 i got again my secong lab test which resulted to HBsAG- (3.666- patients counts), (0.111- Cut-off value).Early this month I got my lab test again with a result of HBsAG- (2.721- patients counts), (0.120- Cut-off value)...this results were the positive response of the food supplement ive taken from dec. 2008 to this date... Kindly give a clear meaning on this results. Thus it meant that I can achieve my goal to be a non-reactive again with HBsAG? thanks doc...

Response from Dr. McGovern

Your HBsAg is reactive over time - that means you have chronic infection with Hepatitis B. I would suggest that you have a full panel of tests for hepatitis B including HBV DNA to see if your disease is "active" or "inactive".

DNA negative,
