Response from Dr. Dieterich

The best drug is lamivudine or 3TC. You may have already taken it. Famclovir has a little activity and abacavir has a very little activity. You may have to take pegylated interferon to get your liver under control before you can take your HIV meds. Pegylated interferon is also a good HIV drug equivalent to about one nucleoside analogue. You should be seeing someone who really understands this issue. There should be a clinical trial starting in the near future using adefovir for this problem. That would also be helpful! Good luck!
