A co-worker fell and broke his leg the other day,I held his head so that he would not move his neck, after everything was done I saw that my co-worker had a cut on his ear and that there was blood there on his ear,it looked like it was drying up,and that I caused it to bleed again.I have small paper cuts, warts on the hand that touched his blood, can I get HIV,HCV from helping him?

It is unlkely that you would get hepatitis from that kind of exposure unless your cuts were open and bleeding too. However there is some controversy about many firefighters in Pennsylvania and other states with a high rate of HCV infection. If you are worried, you should get tested in about 3 months. I would also advise vaccination against hep A and B too, if you are not immune. Don't worry! DTD
