 Cirrhosis is an advanced stage of liver disease with severe scarring. You will need to discuss your treatment options with your doctor since this is very dependent on the cause of your cirrhosis (alcohol, HBV, HCV, etc) and on whether your cirrhosis is compensated or decompensated. Patients with decompensated cirrhosis have additional problems such as fluid in their belly...This type of patient would not be a treatment for interferon therapy if the cause of their liver disease was HCV. | ||||||||
