| Kindly answer Nov 9, 2008 Dear Dr McGovern I will really appreciate your answer. If someone gets tested 3 months after an event when dermatitis affected skin came in contact with blood stained gloves and HIV1 & 2 antibodies/HIV1 P24 antigen (4th Generation HIV DUO Test), HCV antibodies (3rd generation ELISA) and HCV Qualitative PCR are Negative, will you recommend further testing? Patient's infectious status was unknown and patient had hepatic encephalopathy ( written as due to alcoholic liver disease in patient's notes). Thanks |

Response from Dr. McGovern
If this is an employee related case, you should get counseling also from your EHS. However, the details as stated, appear to indicate no further testing is required for this low risk exposure. | |||||||||
