 You have "viremia" - virus in your blood. This means that you have active infection with HCV. However, it does not tell you how much disease you have in your liver. That can depend on a lot of factors, including how long you have had the infection, whether you drink a lot of alcohol, etc. A biopsy can tell you that. There are also fibrosis markers (blood tests for scarring) that can help too. The good news is that you have what we consider a "low viral load". This means that your chance of responding to treatment is much greater than someone with a "high" viral load. I hope this is helpful. | ||||||||
