|Do i need to have a test too?
May 10, 2008
Hi, here is the result of my wife's blood test for Hepa B. HBsAG - Non Reactive / Anti-HBS Non Reactive / HBeAG Non Reactive / Anti HBe Non Reactive / Anti HBc IgM Non reactive / Anti HBC IgG Reactive. What does this mean has she already recovered from her illness? Is she infectious? Can we already have sex? Do i need to have a blood test as well? She had this test before she gave birth to our daughter this April 2008.

This profile is referred to as "isolated core" and can represent a few things: 1. Acute infection: this is not the case here since the IgM fraction is negative. 2. Past resolved infection with loss of surface antibody over time: If she has no risk factors for hepatitis B, this is unlikely. 3. A false positive test
