I have been married for 5 months now. I have a stepdaughter who is almost 6 months old. She has been vacinated for Hep be as far as I know. However, I am a chronic hep b with low viral load. Is it possible that she might get infected with hep b from me just when I kiss her on her cheeks or when she bites my hand? I would really appreciate your answer.
Response from Dr. McGovern
I would not worry about transmitting your HBV to your daughter. I would certainly talk to her pediatrician about checking her for surface antibodies for hepatitis B. This would prove that she is protected and you will feel more comfortable.
I am not sure how old she needs to be to get her antibody levels checked but your pediatrician will know.
can i have normal sex after wife vaccinated
