Hep A IGM reactive now, vaccine 1997 Feb 18, 2008 I just got a reactive result for Hep A AB, IGM. Not tested for IGG. I see that IGM reactive indicates recent infection, but I got vaccinated for Hep A on 11/97, with a booster on 10/98. So, am I infected recently? Can I infect others? |

Response from Dr. McGovern
I would be suspicious of an incorrect result. The vaccine is extremely protective for a long long time. If you have no abnormalities of ALT, I would suspect a false positive test. |
