WINDOW PERIOD FOR HEP C Dec 21, 2007 Dear Doctor, I had done 2 HIV & HCV test at 22 and 34 weeks post sexual exposure with a CSW. I fell ill at week 3, and was on antibiotics as well as traditional chinese medication; ginseng,herbs and accupuncture to address my symptoms of fever, nausea, fatigue, loss of appetite, swollen gums. My symptoms subsided after 13 weeks (which coincidently was when I received my single negative HIV test result). Anyway, my HIV test was EIA and my Hep C test was MEIA. Both my 22 and 34 weeks tests were Non reactive.Are the tests done at the correct window period? Is it conclusive that I am NOT infected by both Hep C and HIV? |
