How is it that some people that are co-infected are able to clear the Hep-C virus on there own, My friend's body is clearing the virus without treatment his last viral load was 8, and they will check him again in a few months, but I understand that about 15 to 30% of people clear it on there own, are there studies being done or articles on this subject.

There are many scientific papers on the clearance of hepatitis C.
About 50 percent of people who get acute (new) infection will clear if not reexposed again. The immune system (T cell response) is very important is clearing the virus from the bloodstream. That is why we check serial HCV RNA levels in acute infection over the first few months before we treat anyone with acute HCV infection to see if the patient's immune system may do it alone without therapy.
In chronic infection, about 20 percent of patients have not found to have any virus in their blood.
